In South Australia the Quality Directorate within the Department of Further Education,
Employment, Science and Technology under the authority of the South Australian Training
and Skills Commission manages the registration of training organisations in South
Australia.
The process is in four parts:
1. Preparation
a) Read and understand the following documents to ensure your organisation meets
the standards:
b) Download a copy of Guide A which will assist you in completing your application
for initial registration.
c) Download and complete Form RTO1 - Application for Initial or Renewal of Registration.
2. Application
The application process requires you to complete the application from and forward
to Quality Directorate, DFEEST with the evidence detailed in section 8 of the application
form which includes an application fee of $390.00 inclusive of GST. For more information

3. Site Audit
Your application is assessed by an audit team led by a staff member from the Quality
Directorate. This assessment will involve a site visit to your organisation to interview
staff, check training and assessment resources and other requirements specified
in the AQTF Essential Conditions and Standards for Initial Registration.
4. Approval
The audit team will provide a written report to the delegate on the organisation’s
compliance with the AQTF Essential Conditions and Standards for Initial Registration.
5. Length of Registration
Registration under the AQTF is for a period of five years. You can apply to vary
your scope of registration at any time.
