How to register in Queensland

The Training and Employment Recognition Council (TERC) manages the registration of training organisations in Queensland.

1. Preparation

Organisations wishing to become a registered training organisation should first attend an information session hosted by the Queensland Department of Education, Training and the Arts. These information sessions provide useful advice on delivering nationally recognised training in Queensland.

The application process requires you to complete the application form (DOC, 461kb) and pay the appropriate application fees (PDF, 54kb).

4. Approval of application

TERC will arrange a visit to assess your organisation against the AQTF Essential Conditions and Standards for Initial Registration.

The next step is to wait for written approval from TERC .

5. Length of registration

Registration in Queensland lasts for five years.

6. Audits

Apart from the initial registration, a compliance audit will take place:

  • within twelve months of your initial registration
  • when you renew your registration
  • when you change the scope of your registration
  • when the TERC receives a complaint against your organisation.
