Frequently asked questions about RTO partnerships

What is a partnership?

A partnership is an option for an organisation not wishing to be a registered training organisation or deliver training itself. An organisation may form a partnership with a registered training organisation which will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the AQTF 2007 Essential Standards for Registration and for issuing Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) Statements of Attainment and/or qualifications for training and assessment conducted in its name.

How do partnerships work under the AQTF?

The AQTF allows for partnerships between registered training organisations and other organisations such as enterprises and schools.

Under all partnership arrangements, the registered training organisation must maintain responsibility for the quality of training and assessment and the qualifications and Statements of Attainment it issues. All assessment must be conducted by, or in partnership with an RTO.

The RTO is responsible for developing and monitoring a formal agreement for each partnership arrangement it enters into and maintaining a register of all such agreements.  The agreement must outline the responsibilities of all parties for complying with the AQTF 2007 Essential Standards for Registration.
