Employability Skills Resources
Integrating Employability Skills into VET delivery Employability Skills are integral to workplace competency and, as such, must be considered in the design, customisation and delivery of vocational education and training programs in an integrated and holistic way. The resource "Employability Skills: From Framework to Practice" (PDF, 3.5mb) has been designed to assist trainers and assessors to 'unpack' the Employability Skills requirements contained in units of competency into learning and assessment strategies that lead to the attainment of Training Package qualifications. 2008 Employability Skills ResourcesThe National Quality Council commissioned the development of the following resources with funding provided through the Australian Government Department of Education Employment and Workplace Relations and state and territory governments. The resources on this website are designed for used by VET practitioners in various contexts. 1. Professional development resources 2. Articles The project produced nine articles and a set of PowerPoint slides on good practice by VET practitioners. One is for learners, one for employers and one for your colleagues within the RTO. Two versions of the pamphlet are provided. The 'web' version is for general use and the 'print' version is for high quality professional printing. 4. Project background, model and PD strategy As background, the overall aims of the NQC project were to: 1. Establish and pilot an approach or model for assessing and reporting on employability skills in Training Packages. The model developed is set out as handout No.11 of this resource: 2. Develop a professional development (PD) strategy and associated resources for implementing the approach in the vocational education and training (VET) sector.
