Keeping up with client demands for customised courses and delivery of training means a registered training organisation (RTO) has to regularly assess its resources and staff in order to be sure it has the tools and skills to provide quality training.
An RTO has to examine its strengths and weaknesses before deciding whether to offer new courses or modes of delivery.
The RTO should be honest, critical but fair when it assesses itself. It must consider in detail what is required in order to create a new training program.
As a start, it should question whether it has:
-
staff with the knowledge and experience that the course or delivery mode requires e.g. Internet knowledge
-
enough staff to deliver the course, or will more need to be recruited
-
the organisation structure to support its staff members
-
the infrastructure, resources and tools to deliver the training e.g. electronic capability, system hardware and software.
