All registered training organisations (RTOs) can access a range of marketing tools to help them promote their products and services and set them apart from unregistered organisations. These include:
-
listing in the training.com.au course and provider search
-
the use of the nationally recognised training (NRT) logo
-
the use of state and territory training authority (STA) logos.
In addition, the training.com.au ROI calculator is an effective tool to show potential business clients how training can deliver a return on their investment.
Promoting your training organisation on training.com.au
RTOs can effectively promote the training they provide on the training.com.au course and provider search. Prospective students and businesses interested in training can search for organisations that offer the required training.
By listing your RTO and the courses offered through the RTO service centre, your organisation can benefit from the increased exposure generated by training.com.au. RTOs can also access marketing logos and support materials from the RTO Service Centre.
To find out how to list your RTO please contact feedback@training.com.au.
Nationally recognised training logo
The NRT logo is a seal of quality and distinction, which sets an RTO apart from unregistered training organisations.
For prospective customers, it provides the assurance and confidence the training provided will be of a high standard and their training certificates will be recognised across Australia.
Conditions for using the NRT logo
There are a number of conditions controlling the use of the NRT logo. Generally, they require an RTO, when creating promotional and informative material, to use the logo only in relation to the delivery of accredited courses that are within its scope of registration.
For full details on the NRT logo requirements download the NRT Specifications Document .
State and territory training authority logos
In addition to the NRT logo, registration also qualifies, and in some cases obliges, an RTO to use the logo of its state or territory training authority.
These logos may only be used by an RTO registered in that particular state or territory. For example, the New South Wales Vocational Education and Training Accreditation Board (VETAB) logo may only be used by RTOs registered in that state. RTOs registered in other states and territories are not entitled to use VETAB's logo, even if they are delivering training in New South Wales.
Each state and territory has different rules and guidelines for using the registering authority logos. Use the links to the right to access the rules that apply in different states and territories.
ROI calculator
There are many reasons a company might invest in training such as skill shortages or the need to comply with government regulations. However, one of the strongest reasons for investing in training is the positive impact it can have on business growth.
Use the ROI calculator to help present persuasive business cases to your customers to underscore the need to implement nationally recognised training that provides a valued qualification or statement of attainment.
Promotional material
A wide range of brochures and marketing material is available from state and territory registering authorities to help RTOs promote training to business organisations.
These include listings of the different types of apprenticeships and traineeships available in each state and territory, employer guides to apprenticeships and trainees, how to get the most out of training and navigating the training system.
Ethical standards
When promoting itself an RTO should comply to the Australian Quality Training Framework standards which sets out clear rules governing the advertising and promotion of an RTO’s training and assessment products and services.
