In Victoria, registration of RTOs is regulated through the Victorian Qualifications Authority Act 2000. Registration is managed by the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA).
The process is in four parts:
1. Preparation

b) Read and understand the following document to ensure your organisation meets these standards:
2. Application
You must make the application through a Training Recognition Consultant (TRC) who will audit your organisation to verify its compliance with the AQTF standards.
The application process requires you to:

provide a profile of the organisation

detail the type of training the organisation will deliver

provide a TRC assessment of your organisation against the AQTF standards

sign a declaration for registration

pay an application fee of $1064.
3. Approval of registration
Your application will be reviewed and approval given when all requirements have been met. You will receive a Certificate of Registration, a Scope of Registration Certificate and a National Provider Number.
4. Length of registration
Registration is granted for a period of five years. An annual fee of $1064 applies.
