This Program will teach you how to effectively assist Healthcare professionals in health or community services settings. Invest in your future developing the key skills and knowledge to apply medical terminology, safe work practices, infection control, client services and duty of care.
Upon successful completion, you will have developed the skills and knowledge to work in Aged Care Facilities, Hospitals, Clinics, Private Medical Practices, and Home and Community Care Services.
With our flexible learning approach, we blend both practical and theoretical elements.
As part of this course, you will also be required to undertake work placement in the Health and Community Care Industry.

Delivery
Face to Face Training
In-person Classroom-Based training delivered at TMG College Australia sites. Face to Face delivery includes both theory and practical activities which are supported by structured Work Placement.
Structured Work Placement
As part of this course, students will also be required to undertake a minimum of 80 hours Work Placement in the Health and Community Care Industry- which may include Allied Health Facilities, Hospitals and Community Environments such as Aged Care Facilities.
Offsite Training
TMG College Australia can deliver training and undertake assessments using facilities at a Students Workplace, or in a mobile manner (e.g. delivery at a regional/remote location for a specific period or for a specific training course).
Mixed Mode Training
A combination of various delivery modes. Also known as “Mixed Delivery” or “Blended Learning”. This includes Virtual, Face to Face and Workplace Based.
Entry Requirements
There are no entry requirements for this Program however Students are required to undertake a Pre-Training Review and a Language Literacy Numeracy and Digital Literacy Assessment.
These will assist with determining suitability and relevance into course entry and identification of any support needs.
The ability to obtain a Police Check – Police Check required for Industry Work Placement.

Work Placement
Students are required to undertake a minimum of 80 hours work placement in a regulated environment.
Students must have the current National Police Check and Working With Children Check prior to the commencement of their work placement.
Recognition of Prior Learning
We provide Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) where student work experience or qualifications of an advanced and related nature have been undertaken. RPL result is subject to the quality and amount of the evidence submitted by the Student to TMG.
Assessment
Assessment methods may include:
- Underpinning knowledge questioning
- Simulated workplace activities / Case studies
- Work placement observation
- As part of this course, students will also be required to gain a minimum of 80 hours of work experience in a regulated health services environment. Students must have a Police Check prior to the commencement of their work placement.
Credit Transfer
We provide Credit Transfer with agreed and consistent credit outcomes for components of a qualification, if the CT request is equivalent in content and learning outcomes with TMG’s matched qualifications.

The HLT33115 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance requires 15 units of competency.
