Course overview
The aged and home care sector is one of Australia’s largest and fastest growing service industries. In 2015, 130,200 persons were employed as Nursing Support and Personal Care workers and it estimated that up to another 250,200 more workers will be required by 2020. Australia is experiencing a demographic change due to our ever growing ageing population. Projections suggest that Australia’s population aged 65 yrs and older will account for 18.85% of the population in 2031.
This qualification will give you the skills and knowledge to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing. With industry moving to follow individualised plans to provide a person-centred approach, you will learn how to be a leader, facilitate the empowerment of older people, support independence and wellbeing and address the needs of people with chronic disease.

Susan MathewsCertificate IV in Ageing Support"I would like to say that whilst training with Kirana - Lee-Anne Gaitskell doing a Cert 4 in Ageing Support, I have found her to be nothing but an inspiration and very helpful throughout. She is always as helpful as possible and very happy and easy to get along with, and makes learning not just a chore but a fun experience as well. Thank you Lee-Anne for being there for all of your lucky trainees, you are an angel.
