Study Personal Training
The AIPT Complete Personal Trainer Program is a nationally recognised personal trainer course. Through this program, you’ll learn to provide physical assessments and incorporate exercise science principles into fitness programming, alongside instructing programs for body composition goals and providing healthy eating information to clients.
Study Nutrition
The 10967NAT Diploma of Nutrition is an online course, combined with a required 30 sessions of practical work placement, offered in Australia that will equip you with the knowledge, abilities and skills for a range of professional environments. No matter what area of the health and fitness industry interests you, this online nutrition diploma will give you the ability to perform a wide variety of essential tasks. Whether it’s advising on food and healthy eating recommendations, providing meaningful sports nutrition advice or understanding and creating meal plans, a diploma of human nutrition will prepare you well.

With the training you’ll receive from both the Complete Personal Trainer Program and the 10967NAT Diploma of Nutrition, you’ll have the qualifications you need to apply for health and fitness jobs in Australia, as well as overseas.

What You'll Learn
The Australian Institute of Personal Trainers are industry experts in health and fitness. This nationally recognised course package is delivered with an interactive, hands-on approach giving you the comprehensive knowledge and skills to:
- Instruct personal training and long-term exercise programs to all age groups from five years (not including Choreographed Group Exercise)
- Incorporate exercise science principles into fitness programming
- Develop and instruct strength and conditioning techniques ideal for sports groups and athletes
- Promote the importance of healthy eating in the community, educating on effective nutrition in accordance with the Australian Dietary Guidelines
- Apply depth of understanding of diet-related diseases and associated terminologies in diverse contextual ranges

Duration and Study Load
- 12 months to complete SIS40215 Certificate IV in Fitness. Once complete, you have 12 months to complete the Diploma of Nutrition (10967NAT). Total of 24 months.
Entry Requirements
You will need to have completed year 12, or equivalent. Equivalency can be demonstrated by one of the following:
- A qualification at Certificate IV level or higher OR
- 2 years of relevant industry experience in a role that requires the use of written documentation and communication.
Entry into the Certificate IV in Fitness is open to individuals who hold a current first aid and CPR certificate.
Minimum Age:
- You will need to be at least 18 years old at the date of enrolment
Residency Status:
- You will need to be a permanent Australian resident or equivalent
Computer Requirements:
In order to complete the online part of the course you will need regular access to the following:
- Computer: Laptop or desktop computer with working speakers or headphone points
- Internet: High-speed internet such as Broadband or ADSL, T1/T2, fibre optic (Dial-up access is not recommended)
- Windows: Operating system – Windows 8 or above
- Internet Browser: Google Chrome, Firefox or Microsoft Internet Explorer 11
- MAC: Operating system – OS X 10.14 Mojave or later
- Software: Flash, Adobe Reader, Microsoft Word (or Open Office which is free to download)
Placement:
- In order to complete your Work Placement, you may be required to hold a current ‘Working with Children Check Clearance’ issued by the relevant Responsible Authority in the State or Territory in which you will undertake this course.
Entry into the Certificate IV in Fitness is open to individuals who hold a current first aid and CPR certificate.

AIPT Mentor:
With an extensive network of Mentors, the Australian Institute of Personal Trainers will provide you with a Mentor in your local area° giving you the opportunity to learn from a successful Personal Trainer. This program is delivered via:
- 40 hours of practical experience in a real gym
- 8 compulsory entry requirements completed online at your own pace
Student Selected Mentor:
Already know a qualified Personal Trainer? Choose them as your Mentor∞ to gain practical experience within your local community at times when it suits your schedule. This program is delivered via:
- 40 hours of practical experience in a real gym
- 8 compulsory entry requirements completed online at your own pace
Diploma of Nutrition
The Diploma of Nutrition will be delivered online with up to 12 months to complete after the successful completion of the SIS40215 Certificate IV in Fitness + entry requirements qualification.
The Complete Personal Trainer consists of the SIS40215 Certificate IV in Fitness + entry requirements from the SIS30315 Certificate III in Fitness. Please contact us for further details on the course structure + scheduled intake dates to apply. Dependent upon an AIPT Mentor being available in your area. Subject to AIPT approval.
