Whether you want to travel the world or run a 5 star hotel, hospitality and tourism is an industry that can take you anywhere.
A hotel manager is in charge of organising and keeping in control the operations of the hotel to ensure that guests have the smoothest and best possible stay. They do this through overseeing the reservations and housekeeping, supervising security and maintenance, reviewing customer satisfaction and overseeing catering and liquor.
The role of a chef, quite simply put is to prepare and cook food for diners in restaurants and/or cafes. There are different levels of chef which will determine your tasks. As an executive chef you will be in charge of all of the operations within the kitchen, whether that be ordering stock or preparing the menu.
As a travel agent, your role is to plan and organise all of the travel arrangements for travellers or companies. This includes organising transportation, accommodation, food and activities. It also means having knowledge of these locations and their laws and customs, meaning loads of travel perks.
If you choose to be a restaurant or cafe manager you can expect to be in charge of organising and controlling the operations of the business. This includes planning menus and functions, organising rostering, arranging stock and also working front of house greeting guests.
