Duration study load

  • Course Duration:

    • 3 face-to-face classes per week (7:00am – 3:00pm) on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

    • 65 weeks to complete the course.

    • Our carpentry training is held at either our Dandenong or Tottenham training centers.

Delivery

  • Classrorom based.

Entry requirements

  • You are eighteen (18) years or older.
  • You can read, write and speak English competently.
  • Completion of Year 10 or higher.

Materials

TIV will supply:

  • Electronic copies of relevant Building Codes, Standards, Manuals, Learner Guides, Plans and Specifications
  • Each student also receives a resources package valued at $500, including:
    • Safety boots

    • Textbooks

Concession cards: TIV allows a 1-month grace period after the commencement of training. If you provide proof of concession during this period, the concession start date must be prior to the commencement of your training

Skills First Program:

The Victorian Skills First program is a government-funded initiative that subsidises training costs for eligible students to undertake accredited VET (Vocational Education and Training) courses, focusing on skills needed for high-demand industries.

There are limits on how much Skills First-funded training a student can do. This aims to maximise program completions and encourage students to make informed decision about their training and employment opportunities. To be eligible for subsidised training, you must be:

  • an Australian citizen, or

  • an Australian permanent resident, or

  • a New Zealand citizen,

  • physically present in the state of Victoria when completing training and assessment.

Not Eligible for Funding?
If you are not eligible for the Skills First Program you may still enrol in the qualification as a Full Fee for Service student.
