FAQs
How long does a certificate 3 in Childcare take?
Industry Leader Answer
This Certificate III qualification provides an entrance-level qualification to a very important and often rewarding career. It also leads to Diploma- level, and higher qualifications. The qualification is part of the Australian nationally-recognised Community Services Package and is made up of 13 core units and 3 elective units (chosen from 12 on offer) The nominal duration for this qualification is approximately 6 months of study at 20 hours per week. Some providers may offer more flexible arrangements, but be sure a practicum (on-the-job training) is included. If you are interested in setting up a Family Day Care enterprise the elective ‘Comply with family day care administration requirements’ would help you to do this.
