Duration study load

The course spans 16 weeks in total, comprising 12 weeks of classroom learning and 4 weeks of work placement.

Class Times:

  • Monday to Thursday
  • 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

These class times apply to both on-campus students and those attending virtual online classes.

This structure ensures a balanced combination of in-depth theoretical knowledge and practical, hands-on experience to prepare you for your future career.

Delivery

This course offers two full-time study options, both providing the same interactive learning experience:

  1. Face-to-Face Learning – Attend classes in person at our campus, engaging in hands-on training, practical sessions, and collaborative learning.
  2. Virtual Classroom (Online Attendance) – For students who live too far from our campus, we offer the option to join the same live, face-to-face class virtually. You’ll interact with trainers and classmates in real time, participate in discussions, and complete all coursework remotely. Please note that eligibility criteria apply for this option.

Both delivery modes include classroom-based instruction, practical sessions, research and project work, plus work placement. We use a variety of assessment methods, including role plays, written assessments, skills demonstrations, projects, presentations, training records, and work samples.

Entry requirements

  • There are no entry requirements for this qualification. It is preferred that the students have obtained a minimum of a school certificate or equivalent.
  • Students should also have the physical ability to stand, lift and bend to allow them to complete their required tasks.
  • All students must also satisfy Australian Police checks (including Police Clearance) and a Disability Workers Screening Clearance in the state or territory that you are planning to work in prior to work placement.

Entry requirements may vary dependent on unit selection and delivery method.

Work placement

  • This course requires you to complete 4 weeks (120 hours) of supervised work placement

Assessment

  • Our courses involve a combination of classroom and online learning, practical sessions, research and project work plus work placement.
  • Students are required to attend classroom based face-to-face training. We utilise a range of assessment methods including role plays, written assessments, skills demonstration, projects, presentations, training records and work samples for the assessment of competency.

This course may be available with government funding for eligible students. (Eligibility criteria apply.)

Subsidised Training Options:

  1. Standard Funding
    • Available to Queensland residents who have not yet completed a Certificate III or higher.
    • KCA Education can confirm your eligibility and guide you through the enrolment process.
  2. Second Chance Funding (C3G Plus)
    • If you’ve already completed a Certificate III or higher, you may still qualify for funding.
    • This option requires an application through the Back to Work Pre-employment Program. Upon approval, you can enrol with a training provider under C3G Plus funding.

  • Non-Concessional Fee: $104
