Why Study TAFE or VET?
There have been a number of changes around TAFE in Victoria over the past few years, which means that there is now a huge range of training institutes that offer VET education other than solely TAFE schools.
These institutes are often larger and sometimes have more options than smaller, non-TAFE training organisations. TAFE vs RTOs – What’s the Difference?
Deciding where you should study can be tough, so it’s important to collect as much information as you can so that you can make the right decision.
Certificates and diplomas are offered by a wide range of Vocational Education and Training (VET) institutions – both TAFE and RTOs.
TAFE colleges are financed, owned and operated by the Australian government, while Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) are privately-owned providers that offer courses that are nationally accredited. Both TAFE and RTOs are nationally recognised.
Despite this difference, these two types of education both fall under the category of Vocational Education and Training (VET), which means that the education offered is regulated by the ASQA (Australian Skills Quality Authority).
What Does TAFE Stand For?
