Delivery

100% Online and Face-to-Face classes are available

CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability) is delivered via face-to-face and also online learning. This means that training is delivered both in a classroom setting and also online using their laptop or personal computer.

The course is delivered across three (3) options:

  1. Daytime Courses – The program is delivered two days per week 9.30 am to 3.30 pm over approximately 25 weeks excluding school holidays and public holidays
  2. Evening Courses – The program is delivered two evenings per week 6 pm to 9 pm over approximately 43 weeks depending on school holidays and public holidays, plus Saturday practical classes
  3. Online Supported – This program is delivered online with ongoing study support, including weekly sessions with trainers. Each unit requires two compulsory face-to-face sessions conducted via Zoom. Additionally, students must attend three in-person sessions for skills assessments as part of the program requirements. This course is completed in 12 months.

 

Entry Requirements

Pre-Training Review
The purpose of the Pre-Training Review is to recommend the placement of the student into the course or qualification appropriate to their needs and that they can be anticipated to achieve success in.

The placement in the chosen course is based on:

  • The student’s performance in LLN Test
  • The student’s needs and goals
  • The information gathered through Enrolment Application Form and Pre-training review
  • Highest qualification gained in Australia or overseas, which has been assessed and deemed equivalent to Australian qualifications

Students are encouraged to declare any learning disabilities/ language requirements as a part of the enrolment process. Once such requirements are identified, the relevant staff is alerted to the student’s requirements and remedial processes can be implemented.

Mobile Phones or any translation devices are not permitted to be used during a pre-training review.

Work Placement

  • There is a 120-hour compulsory work placement component to this course, which is arranged for you by EmployEase by Healthcare Australia and supported by a Mentor
  • Students will complete a range of workplace tasks during their placement period, these are an additional and separate method of assessment
  • Each student must provide a current Police check with no disclosures. These checks are required to meet industry standards and are a prerequisite to being eligible to undertake a placement
  • Students cannot complete this course without a clear police check. Should there be any doubt about a student’s ability to meet these criteria, they should raise their concerns with a Course Advisor before enrolment
  • EmployEase by Healthcare Australia is unable to take responsibility for training undertaken, inability to complete a placement, or for any loss of fees due to a student being unable to provide a clear police check

Assessment

  • Assessment is conducted using a range of methods including written questioning, case studies, scenarios, research tasks and practical demonstrations within the classroom setting and in the workplace
  • Written assessments are completed online via our LMS (online campus)
  • In-class assessments include various demonstrations and role plays

Pathways

Qualification under this course is the minimum requirement for staff under the Aged Care and Disability industry quality framework. Several units in this qualification can be credited across:

  • CHC33021 Certificate IV in Leisure and Health
  • CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability
  • HLT54121 Diploma of Nursing
