What is the difference between accounting and bookkeeping?

Industry Leader Answer
Bookkeeping – responsible for the recording of financial transactions. Most people can do bookkeeping with a small amount of training. It’s purely about being accurate in your findings and knowledgeable about certain financial topics. Accounting – Responsible for interpreting, classifying, analysing, reporting and summarizing financial data. Accountants generally require a more thorough amount of training than a bookkeeper.
