Delivery

FlexStudy is a blended model, where students have access to their learning content online and can study in their own time as well as having the benefit of structured face-to-face training, web-based workshops, practical days, workplace visits; students choose the pathway that suits them. Students can also visit one of our CollabHubs to enjoy a (good) coffee and spend time with their trainer for support or face to face learning sessions.

  • There are no entry requirements for this qualification. It is preferred that the students have obtained a minimum of a School Certificate or equivalent

Work Placement

  • Students must undertake a minimum of 120 logged working hours within an Approved Service which will allow you to complete a range of applicable work tasks
  • If students are not currently working for a suitable facility, students are encouraged to locate their own work placement locations. Collaboration staff are able to assist you if you have any difficulties

Recognition of Prior Learning

  • Collaboration Learning recognises that some students have had previous experience and learning whether that be working in the industry or completion of a previous course of study
  • We are happy to discuss Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) with students. Each student requesting RPL will be interviewed and they should provide a portfolio of evidence to support their application and may be assessed on the job
  • On-the-job assessments can be conducted to assess current skills and knowledge

Pathways

The education pathways are – Students who complete this course may wish to continue their education into such courses such as:

  • CHC43115 Certificate IV in Disability
  • CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support

Subjects

To attain the CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing & Disability), 15 units must be successfully completed comprising of nine (9) core and six (6) elective units.
