TAFE Courses in Perth – What’s Available?
Many of the TAFE WA courses are available in Perth, so if you already live in Perth and you would like to study, you can choose between many different courses ranging from Bachelor Degrees to short courses.
These courses–from certificate courses to advanced diploma courses–are available on a semester basis in Perth, where you can choose your pace and determine a flexible study schedule that suits your needs.
There are short TAFE courses in Perth, which follow a semester-based programme. In some courses, you may only be allowed to do the introduction and intermediate parts of the courses in the first semester and then continue to the advanced and expert courses in the second semester.
TAFE Short Courses in Perth
Short courses are separated into professional or industry categories which are determined by their actual use. For instance, there are short courses available that can be used for personal knowledge and to improve your skills, or in order to advance your professional capabilities. Changes to TAFE in WA
There’s plenty of institutes available across WA, however, the system has undergone recent changes. Some of the well-known TAFE centres in WA such as the Central Institute of Technology (CIT), Polytechnic West and the West Coast Institute of Training have merged to become part of what’s now known as the North Metropolitan TAFE, part of TAFE WA.

These new centres have replaces many of the older ones, however, their facilities, campuses and equipment are still used, just their names have changed. North Metropolitan and South Metropolitan TAFE serve the Perth region of WA, with 24 campuses between them. This gives you the flexibility of choice, so you can find the perfect course, delivery method and study type to suit your needs.
