Move up the career ladder without attending a classroom with our nationally accredited CPC40110 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building). You’ll learn safety, contracts, structural principles and materials, estimating, and many more skills that will transform you into a confident builder, site manager, foreperson or construction manager.
The construction industry is booming, with a predicted 1,200,700 new jobs expected to be created over the next five years, according to the Construction & Property Services Industry Skills Council. Growth is tipped across all sections of the industry, including: commercial construction, house and apartment building, and engineering construction.

What You'll Learn
Tailored to give you the skills and knowledge you need to move up the career ladder without attending a classroom, the Certificate IV will teach you how to:
- Prepare building sketches and drawings, read and interpret plans and specifications, and apply building codes and standards to construction projects.
- Apply structural principles, and identify and produce building and construction cost estimates.
- Create and prepare construction contracts, plan building or construction work, produce labour and material schedules for ordering, and apply site surveys and set out procedures.
- Manage site Work Health and Safety, apply legal requirements to projects and manage small business finance.

Course Features
The Certificate IV meets the education requirements for registration as a licensed builder in QLD, ACT, TAS and NT. As licensing varies from state to state, there may be extra requirements necessary to register. NSW Fair Trading, the SA Consumer and Business Services (CBS), the Victorian Building Authority (VBA) and Builders Registration Board of WA might evaluate this qualification as part of a broader consideration of your experience and knowledge for registration as a licensed builder.
