What is JobTrainer Queensland?
JobTrainer provides fully subsidised training courses in industries with high skills demand and employment growth, and for school leavers, young people and job seekers.
JobTrainer was developed to aid Australians affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly job seekers, the unemployed, and young people. It aims to improve access to training opportunities, such as vocational qualifications, skill sets, apprenticeships, and traineeships.
After its first rollout, the JobTrainer subsidy has become available to a wider range of people. Anybody can access JobTrainer to upskill or retrain in areas with skills needs, like digital skills, aged care, childcare, and disability services, regardless of age or employment status.
The Australian and Queensland Governments jointly manage the JobTrainer QLD initiative. Although JobTrainer is available throughout Australia, different eligibility requirements apply in each state and territory, as set by the state and territory governments.
